Additional Information
Accommodation in our static holiday homes
Bedding is an optional extra, as detailed in our tariff guide.
If bedding has been booked, the beds are made up ready for your arrival.
Visitors need to bring their own towels, plus extra tea-towels, if they feel it
necessary.
The holiday homes come fully equipped with crockery and cutlery to cater for
four to six people; cooking utensils and pans, and everything else you could
reasonably need, including one tea towel, two loo rolls and a roll of black
bags, washing up liquid, a pan scrubber and a dish cloth are also provided. Gas
and electricity are included in the tariff rates.
Our holiday homes are not ultra modern, but they are spotlessly
cleaned between each set of visitors.
All the holiday homes have current electricity and gas
certificates.
Washing
There are launderettes in Bude where you can do any washing that
may be necessary. In emergencies, visitors may be able to borrow the washing
machine at the house to do a load (nominal charge of £1 per load to cover wear
and tear and electricity) but this facility is subject to availability. There
are plenty of whirly clothes lines who those who enjoy hand washing!
Barbecues
Though we don't have any on site, visitors are welcome to bring
their own barbecues, provided they exercise appropriate safety precautions when
using them and do not annoy other guests in close proximity.
Fishing and General Rules for the mutual benefit of all -
- Barbless hooks only at all times
- Permission must be sought before using Keep Nets
- Maximum of two rods at any time - no rods with baited hooks to be
left unattended
- No Lead Weights
- Carp mats to be used when unhooking fish. Fish always to be
handled at ground level to avoid the risk of dropping and damaging them.
Fish always to be re-introduced to the water gently, slowly and with the
minimum of delay
- Should any fish be found to be damaged, they must be retained and the
owner informed immediately so that treatment may be given
- NO SHELF LIFE boilies to be used. Homemade boilies made with
pure ingredients are allowed.
- Landing nets must be dipped in our tanks on arrival, and again
should you visit other Fisheries during your stay with us
- No nuts of any description to be used
- Children who are learning to fish are not allowed to use the
three main lakes, unless accompanied AT ALL TIMES by an adult
- Children must not be allowed to roam around the lakes
unsupervised. The water is deep and dangerous. They may play games on the
top field where there is plenty of room for them to burn off their excess
energy!
- Whilst we permit night fishing, we would request that you do not camp
yourself in one of the best swims. In fairness to our other guests we would
request that you move every other day
- Weeds and undergrowth - we operate a regular and planned plant control
regime, so we would request that you do not damage or pull up any plants,
including reeds
Finally - NO LITTER PLEASE - we still find luncheon meat tins in the
hedges plus other unsightly litter. Bins are provided for all your litter, so
please use them and encourage your children to do the same.
